Continuing Care
Alcohol and drug dependence is a complex disease, and Continuing Care plays a critical role in long term recovery. In order to achieve optimal patient outcomes, treatment should address the numerous facets of this disease, including physiological, psychological, genetic, nutritional and social factors of addiction. The integration of all of these components in a treatment plan is optimal.
The PROMETA® Center offers treatments individualized by physicians to work in conjunction with traditional psychological and behavioral programs to ensure that patients develop a wide range of skills for long-term success. We believe that no specific psychosocial treatment modality fits all patients. Further, we believe that when patients fully understand the options available to them they are more likely to select a modality that they will commit to and that will be effective for their unique personality and needs.
The PROMETA® Center works towards “best practices” in the delivery of care, utilizing and implementing methods and tools based upon our experience with patients and through continuing professional development.
At the PROMETA® Center we work actively with licensed physicians, therapists, counselors and renowned recovery programs in referring patients to appropriate continuing care programs in their community. Depending upon personal preferences and available resources, continuing care may take several forms including (but not limited to) self help groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous or other similar 12-step programs, individual and/or group counseling, or referral to sober living environments or residential treatment centers for more structured support.
