Our Approach

In the past, state-of-the-art substance recovery was based primarily on counseling and self-help groups. These programs often required extended stays in residential treatment facilities, and for many patients did not effectively address the physiological changes associated with exposure to addictive drugs. Science has now clearly illustrated the major role of brain dysfunction in substance dependence and withdrawal: addiction is now understood to be a brain disease.

At PROMETA Center® Inc. medical practices, we recognize the value of these traditional programs. Our clinical staff has had years of professional experience in some of the best, and we continue to hold them in high regard.

How We're Different

What makes our approach to recovery unique is our ability to design treatments intended to jumpstart your recovery process — and do so in an outpatient setting. This breakthrough requires an integrated therapeutic approach; cutting-edge pharmacological treatment — most notably the pharmacological component of the PROMETA® Treatment Program — and tailored behavioral therapies.

The pharmacological treatment you receive from the PROMETA Center represents a very important facet of your recovery — but only one component. Our mission is to give you the best possible chance to achieve your goals, utilizing the very best treatments that current scientific and psychosocial disciplines have to offer. We realize that no one recovery program is right for everyone, and we are committed to finding the most appropriate, effective therapy based on your individual needs and preferences.

Regardless of which treatment you choose, ongoing care will be critical to your long-term success. We'll play an active role in the development of a psychosocial treatment plan that is customized to your needs and preferences, and is therefore most likely to work for you. If you are referred to us through a counselor or physician, we can work together to establish an ideal recovery plan.
